About Copy Text
We built the text scanner we wanted to use.
Copy Text is a small Android app with one job: get text from paper onto your phone, fast, without the internet and without giving up your privacy. It is made by Peek Coding.
Why we made it
Typing text you can already see is a waste of time
Wi-Fi passwords on a café table card. An address on a letter. A serial number on the back of a printer. A quote from a book you want to keep. We kept retyping these by hand, letter by letter, and kept making mistakes.
The scanner apps we tried made it harder than it should be. Many asked us to create an account, sent our photos to a server, or simply stopped working without a connection. For something as personal as your notes, documents and receipts, that never felt right.
So we built Copy Text: open the app, point the camera, tap the line you want, and it is on your clipboard. Everything happens on your phone, so it is fast, it works anywhere, and your text stays yours.

Text recognition runs on your phone, so Copy Text works on a plane, in a basement or abroad without data.

No account and no uploads. Your scans stay on your device, where only you can see them.

Point, tap, paste. We remove steps instead of adding them, so getting text takes about two seconds.

Copy Text is free for everyone. A few small ads keep it that way, and never on the camera screen.
